Monthly Altar Cleansing & Blessing Ritual
Did you know “month” was once spelled and pronounced “moonth?” Every new moon is a great time to cleanse and bless your altar or witch’s workspace.
Burn a naturally scented natural candle and/or diffuse essential oils with the intention of cleansing, protecting, and blessing your space and your craft.
When you light your candle or diffuse your oils, say, “May the good spirits - Goddess, God, angels, guides, and other beings of love and light - bless my space and my craft with the divine energies that be.”
Optional: Turn on rain sounds
Physically clean your altar and tools with a natural cleaning solution, preferably with essential oils that are safe for you and your tools and intended for cleansing and blessing. As you clean, clean with the intention of cleansing and blessing your space and your craft.
Give your moon water a gentle shake. Pour some into a bowl.
Dip a cleaning cloth (perhaps one you’ve blessed just for your altar or witch’s workspace) into your bowl of moon water. Wipe your workspace with this blessed cloth of blessed moon water. (You can bless cloths the same way you make moon water).
With a separate dry blessed cloth, wipe your non-water-safe tools.
Then, dip your water-safe tools in the bowl moon water and dry them with the dry blessed cloth.
Best essential oils for this: Lime, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit, Peppermint
